Lori grew up wanting to be just like her dad…and her dad was a CPA.  So, in 1981, she packed up for the University of Illinois expecting to get a business degree and become an accountant.  Once you get to know Lori, you’ll quickly see why days filled with assets and liabilities were not for her – she wondered – where were the people in all of this?    Lori stumbled upon the field of “industrial sociology” and a passion was born! 

Lori worked in her family business employing 250 team members in 5 states.  Starting as the Director of Human Resources, she left when technology made the world of commercial photography obsolete.  Starting her own HR consulting firm for small businesses, she grew that enterprise to 7 employees working full time in her home.  But that wasn’t sustainable so…

In 2007, Arthur J Gallagher purchased Lori’s consulting company.  The entire team moved into the Gallagher Benefit Services operation and took the business model of HR consulting to small business nationwide.

But corporate life wasn’t for Lori, and as much as Gallagher was great for the business, Lori left in 2013 and returned to her entrepreneurial work. Her new organization, HR Topics works to support HR professionals and small business with actionable tools and tips to drive results.

Lori combines a strong business acumen and a love of people into a successful career as an entrepreneur, trainer and speaker.  She approaches HR from a business perspective, eliminates the clutter and gets you the information you need and back to your #1 priority….Making Money!
